adhd behavioral problems

our son was diagnosed with adhd and since he is homeschooled the attention spectrum is not our main concern at this point. The main problem we are dealing is his behavior,he can be very aggresive when things dont go his way, can hit scream yell, can use bad language. Even we dont have tv or are very carefull about book selection and cartoon selections, he is very wild and violent in his talks sometimes. He is also very disturbing to siblings. We havent tried any medicaiton or treatment yet. There are many non medication supplements or brain balance available. wanted to ask if anyone had good experiences with treating the behavioural symptoms of adhd with supplements or other non medication treatments.

It’s so hard when our kids are angry and lash out. I totally get it— my daughter (10) used to hit and yell and kick. She takes omegas and magnesium, which are both helpful. But the main thing that’s helped her is being medicated. Once she started on Prozac and Guanfacine, I realized how unhappy she had been— which was a big part of the lashing out. She was just so miserable. The medication has helped her feel better inside, and she hasn’t had a violent episode at least six months. She’s also in therapy and will be starting OT soon. I’m still new to this— my daughter was diagnosed at 9– and our kids are so complex. It seems like it takes a multi-pronged approach.
