Hi, I am raising my 3 year old brother and he has severe tantrums, so bad that it is actually scary. They started off at “the terrible twos” as they call it, but they have gotten worse. He first starts by screaming and crying. He got an early diagnosis of ADHD. I am unsure if this is more then adhd though, he bangs his head on the wall, can say only a few words, hates certain sensory surfaces, does the same things over and over, gives no eye contact, and is very sensitive to sound. My friends say he’s just anxious. I am unsure. Any suggestions?

I would have him assessed by a developmental paediatrician if you haven’t yet. He has some traits that suggest being autistic, and ADHD and autism are common comorbities. The diagnosis could open up additional therapy for him.
I would also suggest you get him evaluated. Sounds like he is having a rough start. Even anxiety is hard for a young child to deal with. If you cannot afford a specialist contact your local school district about speech therapy. It is free in most school districts and they will do further evaluations also. With Covid not sure how they are doing it right now but that is where we started with my grandson when he was 3.
