Zoloft added to ADHD meds

Does anyone out there have a teen/adult child who takes vyvanse, guanfacine AND zoloft? my daughter is considering trying Zoloft. Wondering if she will need to stop guanfacine in order to do so. I know we need to speak to doctor first. Just wondering if there is anyone out there in similar position.

My 16 year old son was already taking Paxil for Anxiety when he was diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive. Tried Focalin but now on Vyvanse which appears to help, still on Paxil. He’s pretty stable. It’s not Zoloft but similar so I thought I’d reply.

My son is on Zoloft and had been on Vyvance and is now on Concerta. It definitely helps with his anxiety and his ODD.

My 14 yo daughter takes vyvanse and strattera for ADHD, Inattentive type, and fluoxetine for anxiety and OCD. This combo seems to help her.

That is exactly my son’s combo.

40mg Vyvanse

25mg Zoloft

1mg Guanfacine (twice daily)

He still has flare-ups and I’m in the process of obtaining a second opinion on the meds from another psychiatrist.

My 15 yo son takes vyvanse and zoloft. Not guanfacine though. He has been taking this combination for over a year now and it has really helped. He is diagnosed with ADHD, Severe depression, anxiety and suicidal ideation. He also has a prescription as needed for Vistaril but I only give it to him when he is having a really bad night. He used to take Prozac (that's what was initially prescribed to him since that is what I have taken for years for depression and it works for me) but it did not work for him and he actually had a bad reaction to him and it made his depression worse. Good luck. and when in doubt, get a 2nd opinion from another psychiatrist.
