Skin problems

Hi not sure if this has been asked before. Our Daughter started lisdexamphetamine a few weeks ago and now her skin has gone patchy with dry spots and oily patches. Is this related to the medication? Being a teenage girl she is very concerned and has asked to stop the medication.

Any advice appreciated

I sent you a private message. My husband has had skin issues due to medication also.

I would ask the doctor about it too. Certain medications have made my grandson's skin dry, then he starts scratching till he bleeds.

Vyvance requires l-lysine, an amino acid, to become bioavailable in the body, which can deplete normal lysine stored. L-lysine supports skin integrity and is used to produce collagen. She will probably need to supplement with 1000 mg of l-lysine daily. It's over the counter with the vitamins at the pharmacy. To choose the right foods google foods low in arginine and high in lysine.
