Hi! My son is 10 and we are thinking of trying Neurofeedback Therapy for his ADHD. Has anyone tried this? What was the success of it and outcome? If successful it could re-train his brain and get him off of meds. I’m hoping to hear some good feedback! Thank you!!!

Neurofeedback Therapy
I noticed you had no replys so even tho we haven’t tried this, I decided to answer.
As I said, we didn’t try neurofeedback.
But I have a friend who did.
Her son went once a week for at least a year as I recall. She felt like there was some improvement in his behavior but it was minimal. For all the time and money she spent, she wished it would have been better. I do not know if they practiced all the techniques at home routinely. I’m pretty sure she tried.
I hope you have better luck if you go with it. I’m sure it helps some people.
Ejsmom- I am not sure if your insurance will pay for this or not, but I have very severe migraines. My neurologist recommended me go and I really invested a lot of time and energy (as an adult) and it showed me I am really tired busy and don't stop and slow down. But I don't really think it help me. I really don't think it would help an active child, just my opinion. You have to go through a process to start then sit still and deep breath. I used a dep beating/ Meditation app. which you could do on your own with him.
The bottom line is I still have to many headache and didn't benefit much from the training.
Good luck
Hello I just noticed your post for from two years back I’m wondering if anybody gave you any response as to their experience with the use of EEG biofeedback Nuro feedback to treat symptoms of ADHD. I’m thinking of starting to have my five-year-old do this he will start kindergarten in the fall and I wonder if anybody has had any success
