Does anyone’s child use vyavance? What are some side affects I should watch for? Does it work? My son is switching from concerta and guanficine to vyavance
Vyavance : Does anyone’s child use... - CHADD's ADHD Pare...
Vyavance
My daughter (11yr old w/ inattentive adhd) tried it for a week and it seemed to work just fine on her. She had less side effects than the generic adderall she is on now. Hoping to get her switched back
Yep, mine on vvyanse 30mg. Much better on/off than for her Ritalin. Concerta lasted too long and kept her up. Also doing Seroquel... tried guanfacine, but made her tired at first and not much affect after a while. All kids are different. Good luck
Also, you may want to join a Facebook page for adhd. There are loads of opinions about various drugs... You just have to search the group.
It works for many but not all people. Typical side effects are decreased appetite, later sleep (both improve over time) and headache/upset stomach (usually if taken before breakfast or irregularly). Watch for increased irritability when on the medication since, for some, it can worsen underlying anxiety.
When my nephew was 5 or 6 he was put on vyavance and he had violent outburst and severe and sudden headaches. Unfortunately the only way to know for sure if a medication will work is for them to try it.
