Has anyone switched from public school to online school? This would be AFTER all of the testing (IEP/504 programs in public school, meds, specialist etc.).

We've done it all in a wonderful public school system (Rockwall, TX). However, even with all the help he's still drowning and needs a more "outside the box" way of learning as well as 1 on 1 teaching.

I'm seriously considering CMASAS online school (Christa McAuliffe School of Arts and Sciences). I met with them yesterday and was EXTREMELY impressed. Trust me, I'm the mom who does the research follows the steps blah blah blah :)

I did online homeschool for my son who has in attention ADHD. This was 7th grade. It was wonderful, he got to work at his own pace...no stress!! He excelled. Fast forward to this year, he went back to Traditional School. He goes to a rigorous Charter School and its been awful. He's failing and it's been classic ADHD reasons for the most part. I highly recommend online school. If my child wasn't going to high school next year and was younger, I'd do it again! When he started failing at the Charter School this year, I contacted the online schools to see if I can enroll him and they were actually up to their capacity of enrollment and had a waiting list. Everyone is catching on to how great they are. Good luck, I highly recommend them! 😊

What online school did you use? I seriously consider homeschool every single day for all my kids not just my ADHD son. Thanks

We pulled our son out of public school after 2nd grade. He is now in 4th. He has been attending a private school that teaches children on how they learn (learning style), which has been a life saver for our son. But, this year he has been really struggling emotionally, more anxiety and seems to take on negative self talk. My husband and I will be homeschooling him next Fall. I have talked to several moms who homeschool their ADHD kiddos and they say it has been amazing. I am nervous, scared and excited at the same time. But, I’ve been told once you get the hang of it; it’s awesome. One mom (who was my sons History teacher last year) researched and recommends iLead. My thoughts are; it’s worth a try, if it doesn’t work out there are other options. I say go for it! 😃
