Hi my 5 year old son was just diagnosed with ADHD. We are discussing medications with his Dr on the 15th. I'm nervous, I didn't want to go the medication route but also feel it's best for him. Any help with questions I should ask is appreciated.

Your Dr.should have or will discus what the meds should do, how to be consistent with it each day and how long until you meet again to talk about the benefits or negative things.

Personally keep a diary, not all your child behaviors at his current age, and maybe once weekly rite down the effects if the medicine. How feel it is ir isnt helping. Write how he thinks it's helping if he can express it. Write why you started the medication and the rest will come.

You've already won the small battle cause the next one could be big.
