Giving Melotonin

Our boys have the same issue. They have been getting Melotonin (they each 14 (twins), about 115-120 lbs and they each take 3, 3 g Melotonin. We increased from 2 each to three each two years ago. They go to bed around 9-9:30pm (they are ready by then and fall right to sleep). The are usually up between 5-6am. So, while we would like them to get another hour/hour and a half of sleep, most days they DO get 7.5-8 hrs which we will take consideirng the medication:) We have occasional instances when they wake in the middle of the night and have trouble falling back asleep, but its the excpetion and not the norm. Im guessing if we stopped the melotonin, they would be up later and get up later as well. We use the Costco brand and it seems to work for them.

Sounds like they're doing pretty well on it. My grandson's will take that and valerian which is a herb which helps with sleep. The doctor has approved it and they get 8 or 9 hours at night.
