How do you handle your ADHD kid and the time changes? My son wakes up at 5 am regardless of what time he goes to bed. We’ve tried earlier bedtimes and letting him stay up as late as he wants, and nothing works. We tell him to go back to bed, but that never works. Now with Daylight Saving Time ending, he was in at 4 am. My husband and I are exhausted.

Our son does the same thing. We have this stop light alarm clock from amazon which helps because it is a visual reminder that he can follow. If your goal is for your son to get up at 6:00 then take a few nights to work him up to it. Set the green light to go on at 5:00 then 5:15... We even tell our son even if he is awake he cannot come out if his room until the green light turns on. Good luck! Try not to get mad at him. They are little energy bombs and they just want to see you and start their day!
I have no problem with spring forward, falling back is a nightmare. I have older boys and telling them they can't get up until a certain hour has not worked well if they are hyper. The doctor approved using melatonin because some medications cause insomnia. We tried a couple of prescriptions that were supposed to help with sleep but either they did not help or made behavior worse.
