Uterine adenomyosis

Just found out I have uterine adenomyosis after reading mri result on nhs app. The gynae I saw recently didn't mention it when she shared results of mri. (Deep endometriosis attachments bowel ovaries) I'm getting pain and discomfort at front of vagina area. I've been googling this morning to try and find out more about pain relief and how to stop condition getting worse while I wait for surgery.

Is ibropofen OK to take ? Is ibropofen gel OK to apply?

Hi Hannah

so sorry to hear you are in this club and wish you well with getting the support you need now. I am not sure re applying the gel other than on the skin on your belly pain but ibrophen pills should be fine unless you have issues with this in the past. I always take when i have eaten is best for the gut. Obs i am no doctor but pls check with your local phamacist re any concerns . Anything stronger you can ask your gp to pescribe. I had not heard of uterine adenomyosis specifically...am having alot of bladder issues myself. Can i ask if anything specific came up on your MRI re the bladder? I wasnt aware endo could be diagnosed via MRI but maybe i have that wrong.

All the best Hannah and so sorry we are suffering this way.

Oh my i am so sorry as i have just seen when you posted this...and no use to you now. But i will send anyway , its important to feel seen and heard for us all x

Hi Fipp, thank you for your reply. Yes MRI showed up endometriosis on ovaries and bowel and adenomyosis in uterus , all CT scans previously didn't show up endo. Hope you are OK and getting the support you need too

Hi girls, I've just been diagnosed with adenomyosis at the weekend by a consultant gynaecologist by having a uss. Keen to hear your symptoms? I'm so glad to get this diagnosis as I thought I was going mad and my gp was at her wits end with me.

Not sure which of my symptoms are endo and which are adenomyosis as have both. I get bladder and pelvic pain, pain throughout month not just when on periods and lower back pain , clots , some days heavy blood. On zoladex injections now so things have changed with symptoms

Hi Hannah, thanks for replying. Yeah pretty much same symptoms with me. I also have ovulation pain, thigh/leg pain and extreme tiredness. I've never heard of zoladex injections. My consultant never mentioned them and was pushing me to get the mirena coil. I've had that in the past for contraception and bled for 5months. He has prescribed me with progesterone pill so I'm hoping I get some relief in time but not really hopefull.

Hi, I was same ,never heard of zoladex until few months ago, I haven't had good experiences with coil, this zoladex puts you in chemical menopause and it helps with reducing the pain as it stop ovaries working and flaring up the endo, but it cones with menopause symptoms
