This is the first time I've posted on here. Have adenomyosis with the last 9yrs have had various ops to ease pain and symptoms. This past February and March I experienced the most horrific pain todate it was worse than labour pain. My gynaecologist has put me on decapeptyl injection for 6 months (only 1 injection every 3 month) I started in April also have a lot of adhesions from 4 c sections and other ops. I'm on venlafex 150mg for my pmdd which was diagnosed 4 years by a wonderful gp I thought I was going insane as my moods were horrible and I could barely live with myself tg I have a wonderful husband and children who always stand by me. My gynae wasn't 💯 sure if the adhesions were causing the serve pain or my adeno so that's why she put me on decapeptyl its definitely the adenomyosis as I'm practically pain free next step is hysterectomy for me I'm just wondering if I should just have a partial hysterectomy or full. Would love some advice and sorry for the long rant. Xx
You sound just like me 20 years ago! I had all that, put up with all the blood and pain, hysterectomy was advised but I decided against it at the time as they said all that would cease with menopause. Even after menopause my uterus did not shrink and gave me problems with pressure on my bowel, . Anyway, I had a hysterectomy 10 weeks ago, in my sixtys, I wish I would have had it years ago when I was younger and fitter. Only you can know what's best.
Hi EdwangyThank you so much for replying back and sharing your story with me. I've met with my gynaecologist last week and am waiting for my appointment to have my hysterectomy. I must decide if I want my ovaries to stay or go gynae recommends that I get them removed I am thinking of going through with the advice my gynae is giving me x
