Hello ladies- hope you are all well and coping ok during this horrid period in time.
I was wondering if you could describe your pain (where, what it feels like), when you have a flare up and what triggers it and any other symptoms you experience as a result of adenomyosis. Thought it might help to know that we're not alone....
I'm currently sitting here struggling with a very bloated tender tummy, pain on my right hand side from my ribs to my hip bone, down the front and back on my right towards my pubic bone. Today, I've constantly felt the need to wee and pressure like I need a bowel movement. Oh the joys! Anyone else?
I had the coil removed 12 days ago after struggling with it for only a month. Wondering about a tens machine? Had any joy with this?

Hi there, I’ve recently been diagnosed with Adeno. On the day of my period my uterus swells to 3 times it’s size and feels kind of like carrying a ballon filled with water in me, it presses on my bladder and bowel and makes me feel the need to go. This is only one the first day of my period
Second day my tummy is flat again.
My legs hurt and go numb so it’s hard to walk. Sometimes during the month I get leg pains and I can’t let hold my bwee in my bladder for long because it starts to hurt.
Other than that most days I am symptom free.
It’s taken a lot of patience and effort and lifestyle changes to get to where I am. I used to be in pain all day with a swollen uterus for days.
The coil was an irritant for me. I use voltarol suppositories and it helps with pain for 12 hours without side effects and without affecting my stomach
Going to try a tens machine when quarantine is over but I’ve heard it’s a good solution
Hello! Thanks so much for responding. This forum is so quiet- so I posted on the endo site too.
You said you've made some lifestyle changes which have helped- would you mind telling me what you've changed? I'm getting so fed up no knowing what my body is doing from one day to the next xx
Hey! Sorry for the late reply I don’t get notifications from the app.
I reduced the amount of chemicals I use like in my makeup and cleaning products - adeno and endo are affected by environmental toxins
I have stopped dairy, gluten, refined sugar, alcohol and unhealthy fat- if you remove these things for two weeks strictly then introduce one thing at a time to see which one affects your symptoms the most but really removing all should help you. Of course enjoy a drink or a cupcake once in a while but have it when you know you have nothing the next day in case you get pains.
I eat a whole food diet, there is lots of whole grains, vegetables and fruits, good sources of protein and healthy fats.
A week before your period and during your period remove red meats, trans and saturated fats, dairy and gluten, sugar and alcohol. Do this once you have removed the main things for a while so you can still eat it once your pains improve.
Try and reduce stress as this causes tension inside our bodies and worsens pain.
Improve immunity by getting 8hrs sleep, reducing alcohol and sugar, exercising regularly.
I take 30mg of zinc picolinate after dinner, as it’s the heaviest meal and zinc should not be taken in an empty stomach as you will be sick.
Take fish oil capsules which reduce inflammation and balance you omega 3:6 ratio, take more than 500 Mg EPA
I take magnesium Glycinate take at least 300 mg spread out through the day
Read a book called Period Repair Manual it’s amazing to have that knowledge
