Plantar fasciitis

Hi i have been suffering from plantar fasciitis since Christmas and seeing a physio who as told me to stand on my tip toes and stretch, which I have done but it is more painfull as ever I can't even let my heel touch anything because of the pain.I suffer with complex regional pain syndrome in my right arm and can no longer open my hand I was just wondering if this could be setting in in my foot as well .Is there any other test to see how bad it is I've had 2 x rays because they thought I had a stress fracture but it wasn't.

Plantar fasciitis kills. I had it for quite a while before all my other stuff started. I found it helped to walk on teva rubber soles. I got some teva sandals. Other than that rather than standing on tiptoes, which means you have to come down again, I found that standing on the bottom stairs on the front of your foot and kind of tiptoeing that way helped somewhat. I got a badly herniated disc which I was operated on and afterwards the pf pain was gone so it could have been related. Maybe same in your case?

Hi Spudster 1.

I'm sorry that you have been experiencing planta faschiitis pain in addition to the CRPS.

I have had planta faschiitis in both feet on and off for around four years and unfortunately found the pain so debilitating. It felt strange at first that the pain could be so enveloping from such a small place in my body. I had osteopathy that helped along with using a cold bake bean tin(I popped it in the fridge during the day) and rolling my foot on it in the evening. One osteopath did say that found people really could suffer badly from plants faschiitis as it would affect their sleep and daily tasks.

I don't mean to sound grim as I think there is light at the end of the tunnel, but it can be frustrating as it is something that often requires persistence as well as therapists sometimes tweaking exercises more for the individual.

I did have an ultrasound on my foot to help with the planta faschiitis diagnosis. If that helps.

I wish you well and that your pain levels become more manageable.
