Short reply:

NO. It’s NEVER a burden to care for someone you really love. I was a carer for my mom, then my partner.

In both cases, the doctors feared me. In my mother’s case, she had an appointment with her PCP. I TOLD him she needed to be in the hospital (& if looks could kill, I’d have been fried alive)...and he made the arrangements right away.

With my partner, I’ve suggested procedures as a shortcut to getting a Dx.

I was right...and I heard the same words my mother said to me:

“When you’re here, I know nothing bad can happen to me.”

I’ve been permanently disabled since Aug 2001...4 months before my mother’s first hospitalisation.
