Mental health diagnosis around the world

What countries diagnosis mental illness?

Is this a new thing to have a handbook of mental illnesses and diagnosing people in society with them?

The DSM is a big handbook of the mental illnesses used in the U.S. It's not the Bible. Where's the hope and what is this all about?

The DSM5 is for mental health workers. It is referred to " the Bible of psych" just because contains all the diagnoses recognized as psych problems. Many clinicians do not like this label on the book.

It's often used in disability cases as well

It's been around for a long time and changes over the years just like any medical book.

I'm not sure what your question is. It's not a derogatory thing.

Hi Beautifulsky

Welcome to our Community.

Yes, as Dolphin14 says, The DSM has been around a very long time indeed and are update annually and new mental health symptoms/illnesses are added.

You used to be able to buy them but they were extremely expensive, although unless you're a medical person it wouldn't be wise.
