Hi I’m sorry to hear your T is so bad. I can really empathise with your despair. My T is part of wider AIED and has me in tears daily at the moment. I have hearing aid with masker but nothing is really helping. Have you tried mindfulness? I have been using an app for about 6 weeks and it is helping with my anxiety. Focusing on breathing does help sometimes. I am sure having had T for so long you will be doing the usual distraction activities. Exercise helps me too. Keep strong don’t let it destroy you. Best wishes

Hi , sorry to hear your T is bad . I can really empathise with you . Having habituated twice to my left ear tinnitus of 13 years I developed head and right ear t in August. My whole world fell apart and my life became unbearable and I had to stop working . I developed several new sounds and he right ear hiss was horrible.....now almost 7 months on , things are changing.. . Slowly , very slowly but they are.

I decided to take antidepressants and they were the turning point as I stopped functioning and saw no way out of the constant noise that I faced 24/7. I now practice breathing relaxation everyday , sometimes 5 times a day. I have had hypno therapy for my stress and anxiety and I now wear my hearing aids.

I really felt there was no way I would recover from my new onset tinnitus but all of the above is helping .. slowly .but I firmly believe you have to calm your body down, which is not easy. I take evening baths with spa music and now have an oasis sound machine which plays alll night so my brain can listen to something else , which again I believe is helping .

Please try and remain calm although it’s hard and I have cried so very much .

I now see there is hope . I am recovering after the trauma I have been through and I wish you thre very best .

Take care

I completely understand Delboy, I’m feeling exactly the same, I have hyperacusis too and feel quite destroyed by it at the moment. What are we to do with ourselves. I had mine all under control until I had an ear infection, then wham! 🤦🏼‍♀️ It’s a shame none of us live closer.
