Hi all I was diagnosed a while ago with “possible borderline cirrhosis” through an ultrasound,
blood
tests
and a fibroscan score of 20. The bloods are all normal and the consultant just says it’s hard to tell if I definitely have cirrhosis or not.

Is it right that if you are under medicated for Hashimoto it can lead to getting nodules, pre-type 2 diabetes?
I am slim and energetic and I still see via
blood
tests
and ultrasound that something is metabolically happening in my body. I am a bit concerned that if I increase my dose of Levo I may not be feeling that well however, if I stay on 50 mcg it may perhaps worsen my condition.

Belly fat
I’m 73 and on 100 levothyroxine - recently had
blood
tests
and all levels including vitamins are at optimal levels. However I have recently put on a lot of weight on my bum and stomach. On stomach it is just like a roll of fat. I’m very aware of what I eat and tried gluten free with no success.

canker sore, low wbc and GI infection
I was released as the fever was nearly gone and chest x-ray,
blood
tests
etc came back clear of infection. GI symptoms continued once home. I saw my GI doc who told me I most likely had a GI infection that could cause some residual symptoms but to eat a BRAT(bananas, rice, applesauce) diet.

A year down the line and no further forward
My GP did
blood
tests
which she described my thyroid as being “in my boots”. I started on 50mcg daily and after a few
blood
tests
and meds titration I am now on 125mcg daily and still feel the same as I did a year ago.

Still struggling with my GP so decided to go private and see an endo.Had what I think is a fairly complete set of
blood
tests
and would welcome your opinions. Been suffering yet again with air hunger and was hoping the results would maybe shine some light on why.

Has anyone here discovered they have endometriosis/and or adenomyosis at a later stage in life? Just found out at 50!
That’s 20+ years of endless gastro tests for my ongoing digestive issues (I’ve had 2 colonoscopies, 2 gastroscopes,
blood
tests
, fit tests, a scan for bile acid malabsorption).

thyroid antibodies - blood test timing
I’m just wondering if you have any tips for thyroid antibody
blood
tests
… does in need to be first thing and fasting or are the antibodies there all the time? Should I eat things that I know don’t agree with me? I’m not taking supplements or thyroid meds.

How many blood tests to identify under active thyroid.
Hello, I was tested for a possible thyroid problem in March, those results were borderline and due to family history and symptoms I was retested 6 weeks later. That test result said ‘patient is now hypothyroid’ on my notes so I retested last week and the results are now in the normal range. Is that

First antibody test results
Every now and again I ask for various
blood
tests
to be repeated to rule out any underlying illnesses that could be masked by the ME (blood count, kidney/liver function etc). On a few occasions over the past 7-8-ish years, my TSH has been raised or towards the top end of normal.

PMR - increased risk of GCA
It's a long story, but I am not insured for existing conditions, i.e. asthma and PMR, due to either
blood
tests
or believe it or not, waiting for dental fillings etc, means I have been unable to take out extra cover for any of the existing conditions.

SWOLLEN ANKLES WITH LUNG CONDITION
I was in for a few days, they did a chest x-ray, lots of different
blood
tests
, an ECG which they said was normal. However they found my lungs were hyperinflated and also I had fluid on my lungs. They gave me Furosemide intravenously which made me feel much better.

I WANT TO PUT SOMEONE'S MIND AT EASE AFTER MY FIRST COLONOSCOPY
Took some
blood
tests
and checked to see if I mightve been diabetic. All the
blood
tests
came back OK and no diabetes. The stomachache continued but since all my tests had come back OK, I just got on with them.

Advice needed and a bit of a moan...
I have asked for tests (as suggested by BLF Nurse)but these were turned down by the GP who said if anything gets worse it will show in the annual
blood
tests
. I would change GP but there are only two whose catchment area I fall into.

What next? Thyroid?
I had some more
blood
tests
last week, and have been called back to see the GP as my TSH has jumped from 2.06 in November to 4.50 ( range 0.40 - 4.00) , FT4 is 13 (10-20) which hasn't been tested before. The pathologist suggests retesting in 3 months.

Starting medication advice
I have done some private
blood
tests
and will be supplementing B12, D3 w K2, Ferritin and Folate as required once I have the results back. I was thinking of holding off on the Thyroxine until i am supplementing adequately as I know deficiencies can impact absorbance of the medication.
