Beta 2 Microglobulin
After 4 years in W & W my
blood
tests
showed a new test called Beta 2 Microglobulin with a 2.4 rating in a (0.0. - 2.5 ) range. Can someone explain the need for this test and if there is cause for concern. Thanks!

update
But, I have now been for X-rays and
blood
tests
and my GP said when everything comes back to go see her and we will take it from there. So, now back to waiting and see. But again, a huge thank you for all your input and information you gave me.

B12 Deficiency, recently diagnosed, seeking advice.
I've just had another raft of
blood
tests
, many the same as before and she has written to a neurologist and at the moment I am awaiting the outcome of this.

Climbing TSH What should I expect to happen treatment wise
I have had a variety of thyroid
blood
tests
done over the last 12 months. The First few showed subclinical hyperthyroidism. Then one test recently showed subclinical hypothyroidism. I don’t feel like myself. I have no get up and go at all. I’m either uncomfortably hot or uncomfortably cold.

Abnormal liver function
Hoping it could it just be stress from the illness, having further
blood
tests
this week to check full liver
blood
panel and thyroid function. Interested to know if you had this post op and how long it took to settle. JHolly

pains in head
Lost much sight in right eye in June, an eye-stroke, proved not GCA from scans and
blood
tests
at the time and two temporal biopsies three weeks ago. Out of the blue Friday morning, during breakfast several internal stabbing pains in the head, only on the left side, above the good eye.

B12 * Help Please* High then low. I’m puzzled!
I had a dodgy kidney function reading and also a dodgy liver function reading on recent
blood
tests
but now apparently they are classed as ok even though the last person I spoke to said that kidney function was on the low side 🙄 Help! Thanks in advance!

I was just diagnosed F3 with NAFLD but all blood tests normal what now?
My story is somewhat complicated by the fact that I did have Hep C from 2009-2020, now cured. My fibroscan and fibrotest showed F1 in 2018. No repeat scans were done before cure of Hep C but I had been stable since 2012 at F1 (was told this was normal no concerns). In 2009 also diagnosed with NAFLD.

What to push for next
Beyond
blood
tests
, I'm not sure they know what is the best course of action. Am I better off ditching the folic acid and just taking a B complex and what shall I push for at the GP appointment? Thanks

Morning symptoms after taking Levo
She’s been on Levo for 30 years and her last
blood
tests
were ok. I’m also hypo and have been on these forums a while so I’ve learnt a lot about blood levels on here. Anyway, I don’t have her bloods to post up here but I was happy with them last time she had them done at her GP.

High TSH, increasing TPO antibodies, latest results!
I'll be a pin cushion by the time I'm done doing these home
blood
tests
..... So I decided to do the full health plus tpo from Monitor My Health (who currently have 20% off all their tests, annoyingly!) on Monday, results came back early this morning.

blood
tests
and I asked for vitamin D,B12, Ferritin and Folate as per guidance

Prednisolone newbie!
Fortunately he redid
blood
tests
and rang me last Friday to say CRP was 63 and various others showed inflammation so started me on 15mg Prednisolone to be taken with breakfast. So started on Friday 6th October and on Saturday got out of bed with little difficulty.

Anaemia
Well, seems that I am anaemic after all:
blood
tests
at Marsden showef Hb of 114: low enough for me to feel lousy but not low enough for transfusion. Maybe one unit in s couple of weeks time if on retesting. Its dropprd below 110.

Elevated TSH
My recent
blood
tests
read: TSH 36.7 , freeT3 3.3 and T4 13.7. I was alarmed when I saw my TSH. My GP would recommend increasing the T4 , but it seems ok to me. And when it goes up anywhere past 15, I start to get horrible symptoms. E.G. fast heartrate.
