I am the same. They wanted me to take prolia. I read a nurses blog online about 5 years ago. I remember because we moved then. She actually was able to bring herself from osteoporosis to osteopenia and then in normal range over 2 years. She did a lot of research that she put on her site. I changed my computer and lost my source. Looking fir it again. She said calcium is not the most important and can be detrimental because of the way our bodies use it. She said these following are essential - chelated magnesium, vit d with k, hormone replacement. I did go from osteoporosis to osteopenia. I am having my bone density checked in October. I would like to find her site because she had other things on there. Hopefully it hasn't been taken down. From studies I've found biophosphates actually cause your bones to be more brittle, although bone mass us technically greater. I have had some agressive nurses tell me I'm going to get cancer from hormones. My OB said chances are minimal. I am 61. I would be interested in finding a site in my area like the one you mentioned and if there is anything you know to help, please let me know. Exercise, especially walking and weight bearing is really good for bones as well. My issue is being hurt by transvaginal mesh has caused core damage and has taken 10 years to be able to walk any kind of distance. I still get setbacks, just from walking. Thanks for posting.
