I know this isn't the most obvious place to ask...
A patch on my cheek burns when I touch it, but there's no rash or obvious issue with the skin. It's been this way for about a month, so I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this before?
I removed all skincare products when it started, don't take any medication.

In a study of patients with fibromyalgia syndrome, published in 2007, all the people tested had normal thyroid hormone levels, but 41% of them showed one or more thyroid antibodies in their blood. Thyroid antibodies are a sign of autoimmune disease, where the body is using its own immune system to attack its own organs, and may suggest that the thyroid is beginning to fail. The patients showing signs of autoimmune thyroiditis also were more likely to report dry eyes, burning or pain with urination, allodynia (where a stimulus that is usually pain-free triggers pain), blurred vision, and sore throat, and were more likely caused by any number of things, but more commonly seen in menopausal women.
The main symptom of allodynia is pain from non-painful stimuli. Some people with allodynia may experience severe pain even from a few hairs brushing against their skin. Symptoms can vary from mild to severe. Some people may feel a burning sensation while others feel an ache or squeezing pain.10 Aug 2017
That sounds pretty familiar! The lightest touch causes it to burn, although heavy touch hurts less.
I've had high thyroid antibodies in the past, but I did my annual thyroid test just 2 weeks ago, and have no thyroid antibodies at present. I wonder if it's still possible for that to be the cause. I do hope it isn't fibromyalgia!
Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like a trip to the doctor is in my future. I just like to try something at home/over the counter first before I risk wasting their time...
