Chocolate universal from Guayaquil Ecuador. I used to buy it in big blocks. It was supposed to be for cooking but wasn't bitter, not too sickly and you could really taste the cocoa. I believe they still sell it but it has gone up market and I don't think it will taste the same.
Montezuma 98% black forest gateau
My personal favourite is the mid price one from a certain German supermarket π. 39p per 100g. 4 squares 88 calories
Iβm a confirmed Fruit & Nut case, canβt be beat! π
Ooooh i love Green & Blacks
Most kinds to be honest especially the mint or butterscoth or sour cherry but the 85% is a fave π
Sounds an interesting assignment
Iβm with you Misslovely . Mint would be at the bottom of my list though. π«
Gnaw caramel chocolate is fabulous. Not sure Hotel Chocolate can be beaten though
I used to work for part of Cadbury so we used to get chocolate cheap or even free. Each chocolate factory makes chocolate in similar way but each factory has unique different flavour. The one judged to have best taste worldwide was made in Ireland. The crumb factory there exported to USA and Canada as well as UK and it is this that gave chocolate made from it the distinctive flavour. Some products in UK are made there.
Most UK Cadbury chocolate is made in UK or Poland. But the company now includes Toblerone, Milka and Terrys and Green and Blacks.
Thank you for sharing from your experience. This knowledge is really helpful coming from a guy who actually worked in chocolate factory.
I know it is a weird assignment John but I really appreciate the help.
Have a good day π
The bit I worked in was a R&D place and we had a sensory facility where we did lot of tasting. We also tasted Mars products. Terrys used to be owned many years ago by Colgate-Palmolive. We could get bags of misshapes when I worked at Colgate (as toothpaste chemist) for 50p.
There is now a Cadbury outlet in the Lowrey Outlet part of Media City, Salford.
It was amazing when I visited Irish crumb factory to see the milk tankers queuing up at factory gates. Along with trucks of sugar and cocoa coming in by rail and road.
My fav is Montezuma's Dark Chocolate Absolute Black
Thank you for sharing from your experience. I know it is a weird assignment, I really appreciate the help.
I used to eat any chocolate I could have. I would say. As long as there is nuts in it. syednc.
Aldi dark chocolate , so velvety mmm
Cadburys Dairy Milk..... mmm mmmmmmm
not eating any chocolate these days as I used to love it all too much. I must admit I didn't go for high end brands - I liked galaxy (especially the one with the runny caramel in) or white chocolate such as milky bar! my brother makes a sweet where he bakes white chocolate in the oven, when it is set it is a bit like a caramac bar, delicious
Green and Blacks butterscotch is good too.
