why do my raspberries only last a couple of days in the fridge???

Is it because you eat them?

I freeze mine.....

Because they are very soft, with a high percentage of water in their makeup, raspberries are very quickly spoiled by microorganisms, even in the fridge. Frost damage in an over-cold fridge will speed up the process further. If you want raspberries to last longer, freeze them asap and use the frozen berries in smoothies, ice cream, or cooked recipes.

I think 2 days is a reasonable expectation for raspberry shelf life

Raspberries are the one fruit I eat not long after purchasing

I've no idea cos they don't last that long in my fridge before there eaten haha...

I buy a box of frozen rasps from Cosco. Then I take out a handful and put into a large glass to thaw. Scrunch a meringe into glass and add low fat yogurt. Delicious!

I had some about to go over recently and preserved them in brandy...ok, it probably adds a few calories, and maybe a fruit flavoured alcohol might have tasted better, but a spoonful of alcoholic raspberries on your dessert isn't too bad...so long as you are not driving?!!

I always have a garden full of raspberries in the summer and can never eat them before they go mouldy. The last couple of years I picked them and made raspberry vodka liqueur..... it was the best thing I ever did. Hic x

Relatively cheap to buy frozen, go with that? I buy red fruits frozen, and defrost what I need
