I make patchwork quilts of all sizes - this is my latest large one that I finished for my nephew as a wedding present to fit their double bed - while my hands are busy I can't be stuffing chocolate into my mouth and besides it makes a heck of a mess if you get it on the fabric

That's stunning!
Wow that is amazing. What talent you have
That is beautiful, and as a fellow quilter I can apreciate the months of hard work that went into making it, a real labour of love.
Quilting is something I have been thinking of doing, i crocheted a blanket last year for our bed. Yours looks stunning and that is something that will last for years and years. 😊 Beautiful
That's stunning your so talented 😀
Hi Annabelle!
Your quilt is beautiful and the colors are amazing! My Mom also quilts and I have many for keeping warm on a cold winter night. I hope your nephew appreciates all the work that went into making it! Good for reminding you of summertime and butterflies in the dark depths of winter.
Do you hand or machine quilt? And I love the border, is that appliquéd?
The quilt was bespoke specifically for them - the centre pattern which I machine pieced is a design by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville fame and I added my own borders - the colours are because the brides favourites are teal and purple, the groom loves Scotland so I used celtic knotwotk in the borders for which I make my own bias tubing and hand applique it and the butterflies are sort of my trademark again hand appliqued and finally I machine quilt it all on my trusty 25 year old Bernina - all quilts are a labour of love and keep me sane!
I have a wedding quilt my Mom made us for my wedding that is a pattern she found called an English Wedding Ring. She used batik blues and greens. It was machine stitched and quilted, though she always hand sews on the binding.
I remember when she got a Bernina! It's like the Holy Grail of quilting.
That is beautiful, what a lovely wedding gift. Yes doing these craft certainly stops us all from snacking.
Just beautiful 😊😊😊
Your nephew's bride will add you as one of the many reasons why she's marrying your nephew
