Tell yourself - I can, and I will turn this around. It is purely a state of mind - once you decide to do it, to count and control your calories eaten and drunk, to move more (once it doesn't hurt to do so) and to take charge of your life - it suddenly becomes easy to do and you will say why didn't I do this sooner? Read the posts on this forum - you will feel inspired!
I've been there and know what it feels like, but DD is right, you CAN turn this around 😊 Good luck and very best wishes
Is the weight making your condition worse? Then it would be worth managing your eating. I would also talk to your pharmacist soonest about something over the counter to help your with your pain and make an appointment as soon as you can to talk to your GP about pain control. Pain control can have side effects but most of us usually choose the side effects over the pain. Pain zaps your energy too. So a bit of relief might give you just a little extra energy to start planning your healthy eating. Good luck with your plans.
