firstly i would like to thank those that replied to my last post, i went online and worked out my calories that the NHS think i should be eating to lose weight, and i was eating under that by 600 calories, so i upped my daily calorie limit. I also reviewed my food diary and you were right - where is the fruit and veg???? So i increased that, and everytime i put something in my mouth i wrote it down straight away, and guess what - I was a secret eater (which is something I always thought was ridiculous when i used to hear people saying it - how could they not know what they were eating... ) I caught myself tidying away my sons dinner plate and eating a roast potatoe and a left over sausage, having a lick of his icecream, etc and those things add up!

So I weighed myself this week after all that and i lost 2kg - i am so pleased that it has started to shift and have high hopes for this week. That 2kg even included a night on the booze, although to be "healthier" i walked home rather than getting a taxi, and by the time i had weaved my way home that might have helped counteract at least one of the glasses of wine!

Sorry for long post but just wanted to say thanks to those that advised me, and say that sometimes it might just be worth giving yourself a sanity check to make sure you are following your diet properly..

Love the support on this forum.

If i keep this up I will not need to ask for extension belt on the plane............ :-)

Well done so pleased for you🌟🌟🌟. It's so important to have the right calorie allowance. I think a lot of us under estinate our allowance then aren't able to maintain it and lose it. A food diary is another simple effective way of tracking what we eat. I use myfitnesspal app and I always lose weight when I use it and really stay on plan. It's all those little bits of food like finishing children's supper etc and too large portions which derailed me time after time. Keep on doing what your doing. Great advice for us all thank you.

only one thing wrong with all of that ~ walking home after a night out: not something I'd recommend. but good show for everything else.

I live in a fairly safe country and it was only a short way, well, if you walked in a straight line it was a short way!
