I've recently completed the 12 week NHS plan and I can happily say I've lost a total of 28lbs/2st (was 203lb when i started, aiming for about 155lb). I'm obviously incredibly happy with the progress I've made and the progress I continue to make. This plan has altered my lifestyle and eating habits; I haven't seen it as a diet, rather a change for the better and something that I can adopt and continue.
Having lost the weight (still got another 20lbs or so to go) I can already tell what a massive difference it has made. I feel healthier, clothes fit me better - or not so, i'm more agile, I can run further and for longer, I don't get weird food cravings.... I could go on.
I haven't really been too active on these forums during the 12 weeks, but I felt like posting this as I have seen that some people may be struggling for motivation or unsure what to do. Honestly, don't worry if you slip up. I had meals out with friends, the very occasional takeaway, the cheeky snack here and there. But in the long run, it won't be the end of the world. With a good, clean diet for the majority of the time, sticking to your calorie goals and incorporating a good amount of exercise and hard work it will all pay off. And it is most definitely worth it!
I'll be continuing to try and lose a bit more weight, and I wish all the best to everyone here on their journey to lose weight.
All the best,
Matt
