I am 56 female with lots of fat accumlated round the midriff area. Have you any tips for a particular diet to rid me of this very fatty area
I'm not aware of any methods that target an area effectively, seems to be the luck of the draw.

Low carbohydrate / increased protein eating has some indications of reducing visceral (internal) fat.

Dr Marilyn Glenville is a nutritional therapist specialising in women's health. She has a facebook page and also has written several very interesting books. I bought her book Fat Around the Middle and I have found it both very interesting and helpful. I was dieting before I bought her book but I have lost a total of three stone this year. She also gives advice on natural solutions to menopause. I've found her advice very helpful , have a look and see what you think.
Same here. I'm 54 and at the beginning of the year I had quite a large "paunch" spare tyre belly. My weight loss regime includes exercising every day and that means time on the Abs machines and lots and lots of crunches (mat work) etc.
I also found a lot of inspiration from psychetruth.net/
Consequently, my waist has reduced from 47" down to a respectable 35.5". Hope this helps.
