I used a variation of this with 220g blackberries, worked well.

P.S. And make sure to check you're getting your recommended daily dosage of B12

The Vegan Society also offers good advice regarding B12 and you can buy the supplements they recommend and have developed quite cheaply😊😊
I have a B12 injection every 12 weeks at the doctor's 😊
I’m guessing you may have pernicious anaemia?
Not pernicious. Its B12 deficiency anaemia due largely to my RA meds.
Ah, yes, so many of them can interfere with the intrinsic factor and lead to lack of absorption. I have discovered the joy of Natex, a yeast spread that has B12 added, tastes better than marmite to me and I add it to everything now. Thankfully my levels are good anyway but I’m always mindful to keep them topped.
Yep, alongwith folate deficiency, for which I've been prescribed folic acid. I've never heard of Natex. I'll have to have a look. I used to love Marmite but the texture and taste seems to have changed.
I find Natex a lot smoother and out of all the yeast extracts would appear to provide the most B12 according to the info available. Folate is incredibly important. When I was working in haematology, we had to keep a close eye on levels of that and the B12 as the cytoxic therapies do have a detrimental effect on the gut and absorption. I do know that in the case of RA, cytotoxic MTX is often prescribed. Interestingly, one of the most prescribed medications for diabetes type 2 is Metformin which can also block absorption of B12.
Definitely!😊
Hi Technoid,
Your breakfast smoothie sounds delicious - I like the sound of using the blackberries in it. Yum!
