This is the link to the tofu scramble where I used the black salt. Phil really liked it but I wasn’t so sure but I would say it’s worth a try. I think I would be happy with my homemade beans or mushrooms on toast in future. It’s worth a try to see if you like it as it’s a personal taste.
Hi Debs, haha yes it looks the part 😁...... it wasn’t bland it was the black salt which gives it the egg taste which didn’t appeal to me but Phil couldn’t understand why I didn’t like it so it’s just a preference I suppose.
It definitely looks like scrambled eggs and at least Phil likes it. It's like everything, it's down to personal taste i.e. I love peanut butter but my son in law doesn't yet he likes peanuts😉
Ingredients are good but it's like everything I suspect, fine on their own but not when mixed.
Hey Alicia, I think next time if I had this I'd add mushrooms and spinach or something and miss out the black salt and Phil can add it to his at the end. 👍
I just buy "tofoo" smoked tofu from tesco which has more flavour anyway, I use a bit of turmeric for colour and add spring onion, chopped red chilli, lazy smoked garlic, plus a few tomatoes etc or even veg that needs using up, asparagus or spinach. The black salt just gives it that final eggy kick.
I also serve with a sliced avocado and a fried mushroom or several if small ones.
Too fancy for me. I just throw in some salt, veggies and fry in a little oil. If I really want to push the boat out, I'll throw on some vegan cheese. Looks like something they'd serve to inmates at an asylum, but I can't cook and would rather get down to the more important task of eating than making something look 'nice'.
