Here's about the latest burger from the Before the Butcher Co based in California and they reckon this one is a winner. It's soy based and looks and cooks like a traditional burger. This desire to eat vegan is being met and its self perpetuating and growing.
It still amazes me (I have seen other posts with a similar sentiment) that vegans lusting for eating "juicy meat" and want to eat imitation-meat with a similar appearance and taste of meat because they are vegans.
There are others who just don't like the texture/smell of meat. I'm guessing that a lot of people do love eating meat. They probably won't stop eating meat if they like it. But vegans, who would actually adore eating juicy meat, eating imitation-meat would be the next best thing. Or, am I stating the obvious?
Thank you for posting this Jerry , I was reading about that the other day. It's a tricky one as It personally would not appeal to me, I don't like things to look and taste like meat, I like to be certain I am eating something plant based and healthy, I do have some Quorn products but you can tell the difference.
I can see that it might be a good thing from an animal welfore point by getting meat eaters to opt for this instead.
Well anything that stops people eating cows is good by me. The longer you are vegan the more you want to move away from anything that resembles meat in my experience. Remember there was talk a few months ago of a vegan burger that bleeds like a beef burger π€’ (like thatβs a good thing).
I personally love fruits and veg and don't like highly processed fake foods, which I see as Franken food π€’...
And I've always assumed that veggie burgers and veggie sausages were for conformity so they could be served in a bun or bap and target a commercial market. π²π²π² π
