After my first treatment my wife was at work the next day but there were people I could call on if need be, the first infusion takes most of the day it usefull to have food in at home to save you going out, we informed our family and friends and they helped with the chilldren and I could call on them if need be I suggest you do what feels best for you in your circumstances, all the best with your treatment and I hope it works for you Gary

I had no problems after the infusion and continued as normal, but I wasn't in a full blown flare at the time so it may be different if you are. I think Gary's advice is good - make sure people are aware you may need some support and do what feels right for you.

I went to a doctors appointment the next day. I felt fine. But the children are married so I didn't have anyone else to worry about. My husband bought in fish and chips so I didn't have to cook .I Agree that it will help to have enough in so that you don't need to go out, and then just see how you feel. Get a good book or some new dvd's and just veg out and have a rest. I was really worried about my first treatment[in June] but I'm so glad I went ahead with it as at the moment I am completely pain free for the first time in 9 years. Wish you luck, let us know how you get on!
