Would anyone know of any support groups in the Newcastle area ?

Susan and I looked into this a little while ago, and checked the number of members in that area. If I remember correctly the numbers were very spread out in that north east part of the country, and we were giving some thought as to exactly where might be the best location. Then other matters took up our time and we were unable to take it any further at that time. It is something we will look at again. Meanwhile the nearest one to you, at the moment, would be the Yorkshire (North) in early October, but that's near Leeds/Bradford so maybe too far for you to travel.

Hi Prudence

As Pat has eluded the nature of our northern regions tends to spread us out rather sparsely but I live just north of Penrith in Cumbria so am only about 75 miles from Newcastle. Whilst we don't have enough participants to hold a regular group I'm the NW/Cumbrian contact and happy to meet up informally and help in any way I can. Please feel free to contact me privately here.

I live in the north east (billingham) and i'm in regular contact with a lady on here from Darlington - we are going to meet up eventually! But we do "speak" almost daily on facebook and in the various groups that are on there. You can contact me anytime you like - even if its just for a moan......lol

Thanks mandi good to hear from you I'm also on the facebook site . Get my second treatment of cyclophosphamide Friday then 4 more to go hope it dampens it all down .would love to keep in touch . I live in Sunniside.

Hi Anngie pleased to hear from you , I was thinking I was the only one up here with this disease but every week some other kind person gets in touch, is it Wg that you have ?. It's 4years since I was first ill but now have a flare up.

HI prudence, ive got urticarial vasculitus. I dont seem to be getting it under control. Im on Fexofenidene 3 times a day.. zantac and a drug called dapsone which has had no effect. Still im back to the hospital on the 15th aug. Try something else.!! Which type are you...? x
