Hi,
Has or does anyone take anti-rejection meds and experience thinning hair? Had my Kidney Transplant on 11-16-17, just wondering what I can use or help new hair growth.
Thanks
Charlie

Dear Zoey4chaz,
I'm sorry to tell you this but YES, 'Anti-Rejection Drugs' can, and do cause Hair loss. I can Vouch, for this myself, I've been on these drugs since 1997. I was first put on Azathioprine, Cyclophosphamide, Prednisolone and others, when I first collapsed. I was fortunate to be taken to University College London Hospital were, thanks to a 'Passing Doctor' (all this I learned later) Vasculitis was diagnosed.
I too have had a Kidney transplant, in July 2013, and an now on Tacrolimus, rather than Azathioprine, most of 'Other Medication' haven't changed- at least not long term.
You can Buy, maybe even be Prescribed, a number of products (some more successful than others) to help with 'Hair Loss'. You could, of course, just accept it, and 'Wear It With Pride'- You ARE ALIVE, after all! I was 'Given' an hour....how about you?
I could tell you 'Chin Up' or offer you a 'Smacked Bum', for Moaning so much....However I WON'T as I, honestly do, understand how you feel. Nothing, that I have said here, is intended to Belittle you (sorry if it sounds that way), I'm just trying to put your Hair Loss into, some sort of, perspective. You probably have 'odd' Muscle Aches, Head Aches, 'Tummy Troubles' (particularly that) and so on. Rest assured, if that's the right phrase?, that ALL these are either- Part of your condition or Side Effects, or the drugs, used to treat it.
Finally, look on the Bright Side....The weather is going to warm Up, it's nearly Spring!
Kindest wishes
AndrewT
