cyst behind the knees
Hi dskizs, my son ( who does not have vasculitis, I have ) has cyst behind both knees ,these are usually called Bakers cyst ,he has had them before and they usually ,in time, disapear on there own, they are more or less the same as a Ganglion,At the moment he has a large one on the top of his foot ( Ganglion )and the consultant says they are nothing to worry about but he will probably have the one on his foot surgically removed,as they can be painfull if pressing on a nerve, he has had this one for 9months and only just been given a diagnosis ( disgusting really given that he went to the Drs first in January ).The ones behind his knees are likely to be left to see if they disappear ,he has had them behind his knee before, but the one on his foot is much larger and does cause some problems with his work..However, at least in his case, they are not anything untoward even though as you say they are very uncomfortable, I would if I were you have them checked out,at least to put your mind at rest,as perhaps with vasculitis they may have a different diagnosis, best wishes and I hope I have been of some help.
