I've just had the results of my PR3 test which showed increased levels of 110 (last test showed 63 in February) Should I be concerned?
I haven't spoken to my Dr yet
thanks

There are two C-ANCA tests which report titre values (ideally of less than 1/20). The score for the older PR3 test is negative = 0-7 is negative. The newer PR3s tests has a threshold of just 3. However , it is not a reliable marker for vasculitis activity (mine rarely shows above 0 but I can be quite unwell with obvious signs off disease). Each case must be looked at individually and all the additional symptoms taken into account, including physical (and emotional) well-being. I suggest you access your consultant directly if possible and discuss the results asap.
Healthy wishes.
Hi Mandjit
As Martin says, the PR3 like all the results are markers, guides and on there own they don't mean much. It is the total picture which has to be considered. There could be any number of things which could affect the results. Martin has had good results but he knows all is not well, we have both had what appear to be pretty negative results but we feel fine and nothing else seems to be amiss.
The best thing is to contact your consultant and see what he has to say. I would hope these results have been forwarded to your consultant. Whenever anything appears out of kilter with my result the senior nurse sends me a letter to ask me to have my bloods re-done - just to check things.

hi there
my rheumy consultant rang last week and is concerned about the rise in the PR3, along with me being symptomatic and the difference in chest xray to last May. He's arranging a CT scan this week and mentioned starting me on maybe rituximab or cyclo.
Thank you both for your replies
