Hi All,

Kidney Beam is based in the UK, set up by the renal physiotherapy team at King's College Hospital in London and funded by Kidney Research UK. It is an online wellbeing platform for anyone impacted by kidney illness. We have a steering group that includes nephrologists, researchers and an exercise physiologist and yoga teacher. The latter being me! I had my second kidney transplant in October 2019 and being under the care of King's means I can bring my renal expertise as an integrative health practitioner and lived experience as well to this wonderful project. You do not have to be in the UK to join. The team has worked to secure funding for the next 12 months. There are live and on demand classes from pilates, to more gentle physio, to cardio training to yoga. All delivered by kidney experts. It was initially set up in response to concern for kidney people during lockdown. Do come join. You can sign up for free here.

Hello, I am desperately trying to find communication with people who had a kidney-transplant-problems. My transplant took place in London UK in November 2018 but unfortunately I have been left in chronic pain in the lower right abdomen-site (near the transplanted kidney) ever since and it has been diagnosed as a incision-hernia, which has been chronically painful since the transplant in November 2018 and it is still very painful, keeping me immobile and I have been constantly on Paracetamol every single day as well. The problem I have now is, that since it took the transplant-team at "my" transplant-clinic almost 2 and a half years to diagnose the incision-hernia, I have lost trust in their medical sincerity towards me because it has taken them so long and because of that I have not even had a chance to recover from the transplant yet because of this chronic pain 24/7.

I wonder : what could be the best way forward ? Because of this medical problem and terrible pain since the transplant, I also feel totally traumatised and get increasingly more and more depressed because I cannot even go for a walk outside because of this constant pain. I really don't know how to proceed ...

On a positive side : I also would like to find information about the best kidney-friendly diet (I am a vegetarian) after a transplant and I also would like to read about advise on how to best keep "my" transplanted kidney? I also would like to find any other kidney-friendly-advice. Unfortunately in "my" transplant-centre I have not had any assistance yet.

Just in case I cannot find my way back to your site, I give an e-mail-address.

Many thanks from : schmidt56@yahoo.co.uk
