Have you tried going plant-based in your diet? I was diagnosed glomerulonephritis in 2012 at stage 4. My GFR now is at 11. I am working 3 days a week 4 hour shifts as a housekeeper in a hospital, the other three days a week I am working on my house that I am building. so I work six days a week and I'm doing okay. I drink plenty of water I try to keep my protein intake down I try to eat fruits and veggies, rice and potatoes.

I'm not perfect on it sometimes I slip up like recently I have had the impossible Burger as sometimes I crave things but I also have celiacs I have to stay away from things like that. But I believe eating a plant-based diet has help me live more of a normal life with this. Oh and I just lost my insurance recently as I was on my ex-husband's insurance and he got fired from his job. Now I have to find insurance to cover my costs so I don't know how that's going to work out. I rely on God a lot to.

Any meat eaten raises acidity in the body which can contribute to the problem of gout, but the more you base your diet on vegetarian sources and soy proteins the more you can avoid acidity. A major cause of gout, even in otherwise healthy people, is eating too many internal animal organs, like livers, kidneys, and hearts, and this was why the wealthy used to be gouty in the old days, since only they were rich enough to afford such meats. So make sure you avoid these foods in your diet.
