Tiredness

My son is 21 and often feels exhausted. Is this just his age and staying out too late or do others do through phases of great tiredness?

Hi, I've just seen your post and thought I'd reply as it really struck a chord with me. I've got TS and am now 39 and have always suffered with bouts of exhaustion and overwhelming tiredness. Sometimes I blame it on my life style - I work full time, I like to exercise, I see my mates, have hobbies etc etc - but even if I sleep round the clock I can't stop the huge swing of feeling lively back to exhausted striking again. I've tried going to bed and getting up at the same time every day (including weekends) which didn't work, I just think it's something that you can't really control. Alcohol has a huge impact on the quality of my sleep, so if I've had too many you can guarantee that I'll feel shattered for best part of the following week! It probably doesn't help if your son is on medication as I am. I hope this has helped you in some way - I must add, the reason I am typing this mid afternoon is because I was so tired this morning I couldn't function which meant I couldn't work - daft how it affects my moods too.

I really appreciate your information on both of my questions. My son doesn't know I am doing this but I have printed off your responses to show him. I do think he feels quite alone at times despite having a good social circle. Many many thanks.
