Tourettes
You might have, but only a doctor can diagnose Tourette's. You can get motor tics on their own, but it becomes Tourette's with an associated vocal tic as well. How old are you now? It has to kind of happen all the time, as opposed to for a few weeks and then nothing for ages.
Hi, Lucy is.correct, you can have just 'motor tics. I started about a year ago with having them, but just whilst laid down, asleep or just relaxing. They became that severe in their strength, they would wake me up. My added problem was and still is,that I have 3 major back ops, leaving me with a series of Titanium rods supporting my unstable spine. I have also had similar to my neck, which on their own, are extremely painful, even with a mountain of pain killer's. When the tics started they where mild to moderate, and where more of a hindrance than anything else, but within 2 months, they had become severe, and would wake me constantly, causing emense pain to my already painful spine, and have infact caused secondary problem to them. I have not had any verbal problems as yet, and hope it stays that way. It took me a while to convince my Consultant that I believed I was suffering with 'motor tics', I was diagnosed 7 week's from the start, and although I wish I did not have the problem, having the diagnosis, helped me by knowing what the problem was. Within the last 3 week's, I have noticed that I have made a few loud vocal noises, and am hoping that it doesn't develop into full blown Tourettes. I am 57 yrs of age, so started at the age of 56, which shows age means nothing to 'Tourettes'. I am learning to live with it, but it's not easy. I wish all fellow suffered, all the best, and hope that you can still have a relatively good life.
Sorry but I have to say that you do not have to have a vocal tic for it to become Tourette's. I would suggest you keep a diary. Of what you eat/how you felt/type of tics. Keep it for a long time probably a few months and you could very well see a pattern. Also there is an Official Website for Tourette's too. Then see a Doctor. Take care.

Daiz. Whats your age ? The best thing is go see a Dr. My Orap has really helped me but the Dr has to see you. I also have all the above like you....I can tell a tic is coming....Its like a burst in my head. I was 6 when my parents took me to a Dr I'm now 14. I don't let tics run my life. My parents tell me Tics is my friend. "friend meaning Tics are always hanging out with me" and its okay.
Thanks
Ok so sinc age 3 you ha be involuntary tics I'm guessing ur at least 18 now. So u waited your entire life not knowing and your research is asking ppl on the net. No,u don't have it. First if u did have it you would of seeded professional help or your parents would of. Second the fact you have to ask mean to me that you have a low IQ. Not Tourette's . Just my thoughts
Oh can someone tell me if I have anger issues o punch my 3 yo child and kick my dog but idk could Jon Q. Public on here diagnose me. Sorry I know I'm a sarcastic dick.
