I’m feeling all hot and bothered and I’m suffering from a pollen attack after walking back from the village pharmacy to pick up my Risperidone. I’m in a bit of a quandary today, I’m back down, feeling depressed despite the sunshine, I feel a bit guilty about this but I feel all stick, sweaty and hayfevery. So maybe I’ll just have a Cadbury’s Crème Egg for now, that might perk me up a bit.
On the plus side I’ve just received a call about the voluntary job that I applied for, so that’s a positive happening, hopefully I should pick up some more skills and make my CV look more impressive, that’s if I get the job! I’m also looking forward to the Godiva Festival, us ticcers from the West Midlands support group will be meeting up godiva.coventry.gov.uk/ .Whilst looking through the acts that will be performing will be Anthony Hart and the Expensive Musicians, ha-ha, last time I saw him he was teaching bass guitar in a Leamington school, which is a bit of a come down for an ex-Style Council member. But Coventry is full of ex-session musicians. While on the theme of musical peeps, while I was wandering around the internet, looking at a list of notable people from Llanelli I came across the name Christopher Rees, familiar name, Chris Rees, year above in the sixth form, could be? Probably not. I found this on Youtube – it is him! youtube.com/watch?v=7Y_-1eh... He looks just like he did when we were in school. Good luck Chris, may you sell lots of albums. X
I’ve got a bit of reading to catch up on, I’ve been ploughing through the SEN Green paper and wanted a few thoughts on some of the keys proposals that I think will affect kids with TS. The main point is that rather than have a succession of assessments for different things (social care needs, education etc) the child just has one assessment. Another important point is that they are planning to extend the use of the assessment up until the young person is 25 to help them through college and on to employment, which I think is an excellent idea.
Let me know what you think, as I work my way through it I’ll be writing more about it.
