pulsing tinnitus in one ear but not with heart beat

hi. Has anyone had tinnitus spike which is like a pulsing but not with heart rate. Seems to be every 2 seconds irrespective of my heart rate. Can’t seem to find any thing online to explain what this is. Is this what pulsative tinnitus is like ? I have had tinnitus for years and doesn’t normally bother me now as is was a steady ‘ping’ and not pulsing. Any info or advice welcome.

I'm no expert but I have been wondering the same in relation to my pulsatile tinnitus. I think (but as I say I'm not qualified at all!) that it could be related to hearing the blood going through the major veins in the neck. I am due to have a dopler scan to check the carotoid artery in the neck on the side of the tinnitus.

That’s similar to what I read. Just thought pulsative tinnitus should match the pulse.

I have had similar experience, my tinnitus is a constant high pitch tone, but more lately in my right ear I get a pulsing pneumatic drill sensation which comes and goes

Have you had a MRI scan, I have and just waiting for results
