Just posting because in need of a bit of support really. My tinnitus has spiked thanks once again to my annoying neighbours car alarm continually going off. It’s right by the side of my house. My tinnitus is screaming. I can’t sleep and it’s made me so depressed. Ive had to sleep in the spare room again in case it goes off again.
I was trying to explain how upset I am to a family member today and they just didn’t get it at all so I gave up. It’s just sent me into a real downward spiral.

I’m really sorry to hear this and understand how you must be feeling. I think you need to speak with this neighbour tomorrow and try and sort it out. Other neighbours also must be getting disturbed by it. Tinnitus is bad enough without having this extra aggravation. I hope you are alright.
Thank you. I’ve tried talking to him before but he wouldn’t listen. He’s not the easiest person to deal with. I’m just so tired. I can’t sleep because of the spike in sounds and was awake most of last night. It’s just made me really depressed
gosh how I feel for you! When I bought a property for the first time it was on a main road and as soon as I got to sleep I’d be wakened by police sirens or motorbikes or whatever - but within weeks I’d acclimatised. But certainly car alarms are different!
Your local authority can be approached for noise nuisance.
Oh Georgia, my heart goes out to you. Hang in there, it will pass. Don't give the new noise attention. (I know it's easier said then done!), but the more attention you give to it the more it will take over. You can do it. 💪.
Thank you. Yeah it’s very difficult. I thought the alarm had stopped but then it started up again last night. Was very glad I was in my spare room. It really knocks me down, I start to feel on edge in my own home.
