Nine months ago my tinnitus went crazy after my ear drum was sucked out while having microsuction....I waited until November to have a new ear drum and the surgeon found it had a cholesteatoma which was large and would of killed me...
My new ear drum has now made my tinnitus even worse.
Awaiting cbt as they thought I wouldn't need it with my operation..
This past year has been awful with extremely loud tinnitus stopping me do anything or go anywhere.
Tinnitus blocker videos don't work as my tinnitus constantly changes pitch
Are there any other ways to help with this insane noise in my head ?

I’m so so sorry for your troubles. All of us here have tinnitus, many of us went through scans and so on to ascertain if there was an underlying cause and, from my memory, you are the first to have come up with a tumour such as yours. So a good thing it was found.
I had a look at your earlier post and see now-one has suggested reading the website of Tinnitus UK. You may find something there that’s helpful.
Your own doctor should be considering prescribing you a course of CBT, I feel, and if not you might suggest it.
The aim is to get to a point when you don’t really notice the noise, it’s just there. Just like, if you go down a crowded street you don’t notice the people because they are expected. The primitive part of your brain currently is trying to tell you, with the noise, that it thinks something sinister like a tiger is going to come out from behind a bush. So your brain needs to understand there is nothing there. This does take time, and professional help might be required - hence the CBT.
My gp is awful I had to refer myself to talking therapies who first said no to cbt because I had an operation coming up.tjays now made it worse and I'm again waiting for an assessment with them... been waiting three weeks..
Sorry to hear what you’ve been through. It sounds awful.
Have you tried listening to Neuromodulation sounds? While it is in no way a fix, I find that it gives me some relief and dampens the tinnitus for around 30 minutes after listening.
