Hi. I'm sorry to hear that. All of us here have been where you are and it's hard. I know it's not easy but try not to worry, T is common and horrible but rarely a sign of anything concerning. Have you been to your GP?

We each have to find our own way. The key thing for me has been accepting it, keeping my stress levels low, resting and diverting my attention away from it by keeping busy. I have background noise on all the time (the radio) and although it's hard, I'm trying not to let it get to me. I noticed that sugar seemed to make it worse and even a single glass of wine the same, so I am trying to give up both. None of this might work for you but just some ideas. I'm sure other people will be managing with other strategies. Hang on in there and good luck!

Hi. It's very hard but the support here is good. I'm in touch with ENT and audiology but it's taken a long time to get there. It has changed my life but I'm trying to adapt and habituate which means learning how to ignore it basically. It is not straightforward. There are methods to learn to do this. I also have a NHS hearing aid which I can stream other noises to the worse affected ear when it becomes too much. Take care of yourself and wishing you peace.

Hope it helps

Hi, please know that we understand and you are not alone, Tinnitus is a stress response so we need to address what is causing our stress and then use coping mechanisms, we can improve and recover so dont lose hope, i recommend you seek out Julian Cowan Hill on You Tube he had T for many years but recovered, he has gone on to help others, He has an app 'Quieten' you can get a months free trial, he explains exactly what T is and he has a website so you can also email him. Please avoid negative forums and websites which dismiss holistic approaches as they often do because some practices are not medically proven to help people but in actual fact they do!!! It is not true to say there is nothing we can do to help let go of Tinnitus. I hope this is helpful.

You are not alone . It’s quite normal to find it very hard to cope with at first . You will find ways , we all have . Lots of trial and error and it’s not a quick fix . You will find lots of different methods of how people cope on here. Music, radio, being busy ,youtube sound therapy, headphones, hearing aids etc. . It’s finding what one works best for you . ( I use talk radio on earphone ) . I’m about 18 months in , and honestly it doesn’t bother me that much . Best wishes .
