Travelling on the tube train

Hello

I suffer from hearing loss in both ears, it’s the high frequencies I struggle with, I am just waiting to be fitted with NHS hearing aids. I am hoping they will help with the tinnitus I have had since November 2023 and my hearing issues.

I notice that when I travel on the tube train in London, the noise of the train when it is moving seems so high pitched that I have to put my fingers over my ears, goodness knows what my fellow passengers think! I’ve travelled on the tube for many years, on and off and have never had this problem before until November.

Has anyone else experienced this whilst travelling on the tube/train? I would be interested to hear your comments.

Thank you.

Best wishes.

Hi, the noise on the London tube is extremely loud. I use noise cancelling headphones (Bose Quietcomfort) when travelling by tube. They help reduce the volume levels significantly.

All the best

Hello

Thank you for your advice RKAUF. The noise from the tube has made my tinnitus spike, last night I could hardly hear out of my right ear. I will definitely consider buying some noise cancelling headphones .

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

Best wishes.
