hello, sun. Information about plane travel is on the Tinnitus Uk website and should reassure you. Put “flying “ into, their search box, top left.

I would suggest some kind of ear protection for the journey as I felt it was quite loud in the plane on my last trip.

Hi, I have travelled by plane many times since my T started 4 years ago, but no longer than 4/5 hours and it never affects my T, in fact the plane noise seems to mask my T, also I feel it is less stressfull flying on a plane than to driving a car in the UK these days.

Hello, I also had anxiety around plane travel when I first for tinnitus. The sound of the engines is only relatively loud during take off and landing. Wearing ear plugs during those moments will provide more than enough hearing protection. You can also chose to sit away from the wings of the plane where the engines are located. Travelling by tube in London is far louder than sitting in a plane!

Good luck with it.

Did you manage to fly? How was it?

Plane travel has affected my hearing, directly related to Ménière's disease as it seems to be a trigger for me, but has NEVER affected my tinnitus and as I worked overseas both before and after tinnitus began about three decades ago that was a lot, including many long-haul flights (think Tokyo/USA sometimes up to 14 hours). In fact during the flight it's quite loud and so acts as a mask for tinnitus! I would go and enjoy your visit.
