Hello. Interested to learn if anyone else suffers daily from not just tinnitus but the feeling of blocked ears. I’m wondering whether they’re connected?
Been to ENT consultants with no real answers. I’m constantly blowing nose to clear but it doesn’t help. Also with blocked sensation I occasionally have balance issues.
A real daily annoyance! Thanks David.

Hi David, I also have blocked ears and balance issues all the time, also have vertigo. ENT didn’t really help at all and what’s more incredible is that all of the hearing tests show perfect hearing which I don’t understand because I have to ask people all the time to repeat themselves and need to turn up the tv.
I am convinced it has something to do with my Eustachian tubes which are blocked but can’t seem to get any of the professionals to agree.
I do get blocked ears (I get them microsuctioned when they are really blocked) and certainly this ramps up the tinnitus.
I’ve found a stuffy nose is associated with these symptoms sometimes and I get relief from this by using Sinex nasal spray solution - sniff it up your nose! This makes me feel a bit better all round when the nose is suddenly cleared: the sinus tissues swell, the spray calms them down.
This does not help with vertigo though. Sometimes my vertigo is set off by having treatment in the dentist’s chair, if he sends me up and down a few times. I’ve got to have root canal treatment tomorrow so wish me luck!
Hello, I experienced this quite a lot, feeling intense pressure in my ears, also they felt totally clogged up which in turn increased the volume on the tinnitus. When it got to the stage of hearing my voice echoing constantly I went to see a pharmacist (I was on holiday and couldn't access other services) and she said there was some inflammation in left ear (left side remains the key focus for me), she talked about the Otitis presentations but also about Eustachian tube dysfunction and prescribed me an Ear spray to be used for 1 week only. It really did the trick - whatever it was it did shift, it stopped the echoing, I did experience some "crackling" noises when yawning, moving head etc which I took to be a good sign. And my tinnitus turned the volume down to the annoying screech rather than the incredibly loud screech too.
I happened to go to GP yesterday about worsening PT - told him about this - he looked in both ears and said no signs of inflammation and ear drums both nice and shiny (which apparently is good!) although I am still experiencing some earache.
Also my left ear constantly clicks and some times I feel a burning sensation when listening to video conferences on ms teams or zoom. Occasionally it feels like there is something in them and they tickle? Similar to anyone else?
