Hello lomaxmar. You are certainly not alone in suffering from tinnitus - more than one in ten people have it. I don't know what you mean by 'visual snow', though.

Have you seen your doctor about either of these problems? I'm well aware that some doctors (knowing that there is no "cure" for tinnitus) are rather dismissive, but most doctors are willing and able to help you with the distress that tinnitus can cause. Let's bear in mind that doctors are not all-knowing and all-seeing, but they might be able to help. Not all diseases are curable as you are, I'm sure, aware. Multiple sclerosis just an an example, isn't curable but help can be given.

If you live in the UK, and this visual problem is something that an optician might be able to help with, have you tried a firm like Specsavers?

Hi, I've also got tinnitus and visual snow. Unfortunately there's not a lot that you can do apart from manage both the conditions. Visual snow is a neurological condition, so going to an opticians won't help. How long have you had tinnitus and visual snow? I've had visual snow for over five years and I've become used to it, and I'm slowly getting used to the tinnitus that became worse last November. Have you also spoken to anyone, like a doctor, about how you're feeling? They might be able to direct you to some support for how you're feeling.

hello. I don’t know about visual snow but I know how incredibly impactful T can be on your well-being. I’ve felt all of the worst feelings in my life since getting severe T. The darkest thoughts. But I promise, it gets easier, it gets better. I go out again now to loud venues with proper hearing protection. It makes my T spike massively but always reduces again to my normal level (still very loud and noticeable but importantly not affecting my mood). It might not seem that way now but I’m sure the vast majority on this forum felt the same at the start of their journey, and the vast majority of those would (I’d hope) tell you as time goes by it does get easier and does get better.

What ear protection do you use? I enjoy concerts and bar bands but afraid to go.
