I’ve joined this group tonight as my nan suffers with tinnitus quite badly and she doesn’t understand how it works but she gets really emotional. Ive came across something called cortexi and I’m curious to see if anyone knows if this is a legit thing as I’m trying to find any means necessary to help ease it for her. If you know anything please feel free to comment as I’d appreciate it a lot. Thank you for reading!

So sorry to hear about your Nan. I’ve not heard of Cortexi but after many years of having tinnitus and having researched various helpful options, I’m not sure there’s anything you can buy over the counter that helps. Others might know more though. I’m in my late 60’s and have always tried to have the mindset that tinnitus won’t control me or my life. Keeping busy helps me not hear it and playing the radio during the day to provide background noise to mask it also helps me. As soon as I sit down in the quiet, there it is! Your Nan is understandably emotional and your wonderful support will undoubtedly help her. Sorry to not be more helpful about Cortexi. Best wishes to your Nan.

All the so called remedies that are advertised on the internet are scams. If they worked we would all know about it and the company would be world famous.

Welcome  bph97 Your Nan is very lucky to have a grand son / daughter like you. There are no cures for T but your help and support will be invaluable 🙂

Cortexi gets between 1.5 and 2.5 stars on Amazon. Anything that says it is a treatment for tinnitus is almost certainly NOT going to work. Tinnitus has no known cure, although it does randomly and spontaneously change, get worse and get better. If she has not had it for long it may resolve of itself, but most of us have found it is something we have had to learn to live with, many of us for decades. I agree with Harper 8. For some people background noise helps; for me it doesn't, but what does help me is keeping busy. It can be anything that stops me thinking about tinnitus. When I sew, when I read, when I walk with a friend it's still there but I don't think about it.
